When you are done reading this post, I hope you will have found a niche or niches you would like to focus on!
So you’ve decided to start a blog because you’ve heard how awesome it is? Or maybe because you have heard that you can make a decent income and quit your 9-5.
Whatever your reason, it is possible to make money blogging!
Soooo, I thought I would share some of the most popular blogging niches that have the potential to drive crazy traffic and earn you some extra money!
I’m sure you have heard that the only way to make money blogging is to well, blog about blogging.
That simply is NOT true!
I am brand new to the blogging world but through all of my research, reading and discussions with other bloggers, I have pretty much learned that the blogging niches below are very popular and have the potential to earn some serious money!
Let’s get started!
1. PARENTING BLOGS
Parenting is a very profitable niche.
With millennials entering the parenting scene, they are definitely looking for parenting advice from seasoned parents. It is easy to trust women who have been there and done that!
This niche isn’t limited to just new moms, sometimes us seasoned moms are faced with parenting challenges that we often times need advice about.
I have followed Carly, of Mommy On Purpose for about 2 years now. She is a stay at home mom who blogs about well, being a mom! She was able to grow her blog very quickly! In less than a year, she had amassed around 400K pageviews and was able to generate around 5K a month! Absolutely amazing!
2. LIFESTYLE BLOGS
A lifestyle blog is a blog that discusses many topics.
These topics can range from money and finance to health and beauty and usually everything else in between but they tend to have a specific theme.
Although they discuss almost any subject, they tend to target 20 somethings, college students, new moms and amateur cooks.
Because the topics covered are so broad, many people believe they cannot generate an income with a lifestyle blog. When you are speaking to one audience, such as if you owned a food blog or a fitness blog, you become almost an authority figure; someone your readers can trust and respect.
It then becomes that much easier to promote and sell products and services to this audience. Because they trust you, they are more apt to purchase your products and services.
Lindsey and Bjork, owners of Pinch of Yum, a food blog, garnered 4.2 million page views! WOW! If you are a blogger who sees 200K pageviews per month, you know how exciting that can be, imagine checking stats and seeing 4.2 million! Talk about happy dancing!
If you are addicted to Pinterest, like me, (shhh…don’t tell anyone!) then you know it is a playground for anyone looking for new dishes to add to the menu!
No wonder their site is doing so well! Not mention, they have some tasty recipes as well!
Although they ceased publishing income reports as of December 2016, they brought in, are you ready , a whopping $95,000 in November of 2016! That number makes my head spin!
3. HEALTH AND FITNESS BLOGS
We all know that anything related to health and fitness isn’t going to lose steam anytime soon!
Someone is always going to be dieting, looking for ways to lose weight and healthy living information. This is what makes this niche one of the most profitable niches.
Lauren and Adam at Avocadu, a health and fitness blog, made an astonishing 144K in January 2018! That is beyond any of my wildest expectations!
I need to get to writing some serious engaging content if I ever want to make that kind of dough!
4. HOME DECOR
People love to decorate their homes. After all, it is one of the most prized material possessions we own.
I love looking at the endless variations of home decor, from the DIY decor to the store bought decor, my Pinterest feed is full of home decor ideas.
Abby over at Just A Girl and Her Blog, brought in over 41K just two years ago! I can only imagine what her income must be 2 years later as she no longer posts income reports.
Her blog consists of organizing ideas and tips and home decor recommendations. She also offers courses on how to start a successful blog.
We all want to know how to make more money and save more money. Enough said right?
Michelle Schroeder of Making Sense of Cents was able to leave her 9-5 as a financial analyst and grow her blog to a monthly income of $100,000K!
I love her content and visit her site regularly for inspiration!
So you see, it IS possible to make a living blogging. Real people like you and me have proved that with the various incomes listed above.
I don’t know about you, but for me, reading these income reports is inspiring. They make me push that much harder!
I am finding out each and every day that blogging is not for the weak and it is a lot harder than you realize but I am also finding out that it is so worth it.
Here is to hoping all who read this post receive inspiration and motivation to keep pushing! It is a lot of work but I know we can do it!
My only regret is not starting 2 years ago!
