Let’s face it, if you are not a morning person, mornings can be BRUTAL! Throw little ones in to the mix and you have a complete stress-fest! Between hitting snooze 10 times, spilled coffee, and whiny little ones, a bad morning has already set the tone for a bad day. But have no fear, mornings don’t have to be complete meltdowns all of the time! Below you will find some tips to help you de-stress in the morning.
5 WAYS TO DE-STRESS IN THE MORNING
PREPARE MEALS THE NIGHT BEFORE
If you have meal prepped on Sunday, pack your lunch and breakfast so that it is easy to grab on the way out the door. This little tip can shave about 10-15 minutes off of your morning routine!
CHOOSE CLOTHING AND IRON THE NIGHT BEFORE
This is a HUGE one for me, especially since I have kids I need to get ready as well. I choose our clothing for the week, iron them and put them in these DIY bins for the week. If the weather changes drastically, you can always add or subtract the necessary pieces.
WAKE UP BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE
Try to awaken between 30-45 minutes before everyone else. Grab your cup of coffee, juice or tea and use this rare silence to reflect, meditate and plan your day. It makes a world of difference!
GO TO BED EARLIER
This one is definitely easier said than done! We moms are always up last picking up the last little bit of mess long after everyone else in the house is asleep. But it is extremely important to we try to get as much rest as possible. An ample nights’ sleep works wonders for your overall health. If you find you are done before time with your nightly routine, squeeze in a few extra Zzzz’s mama…you deserve it!
MINIMIZE THE ELECTRONICS
We have to unplug. If I am not working on my blog, I allow myself 1 hour to browse the internet and check social media. Because I am ALWAYS glued to my computer, tablet, and phone, it feels really good to kick back and unplug! Use this extra time to sneak in some QT with the family!
