It’s that time of the year again! The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and the bees are stinging! It’s SPRING! And that means it’s time for some spring cleaning!
Spring is arguably my most favorite season of them all. The air is so crisp and light and the temperature is perfect–not too hot, not too cold and the whole world has color again. It’s almost like a new beginning.
And we all know that with new beginnings come change. Maybe we need to purge our souls or relax our minds. If you are anything like me, all you really want to do is get rid of the clutter that has accumulated over the past 3 seasons!
Hence, SPRING CLEANING! I’ve rounded up a few of the best spring cleaning tips to help you get the job done!
REMOVE WATER STAINS FROM FAUCETS WITH LEMONS
Faucets a little dull due to water stains? Try rubbing a lemon half on the hard water marks. The citric acid helps to remove the stains.
CLEAN STAINLESS STEEL WITH BAKING SODA
Wet the area to be cleaned, sprinkle baking soda over the wet area and then use a sponge to scrub.
Stainless steel should look as good as new!
CLEAN THE GRILL WITH AN ONION
If your grill is still full of gunk from last summer, get it cleaned quickly by using an onion. Yes, an onion!
Get the grill really hot, attach an onion half to the end of a long fork, spray the grates down with vinegar and scrub.
Food residue lifts right off!
USE COFFEE FILTERS FOR MORE THAN JUST COFFEE
Coffee filters aren’t just used to filter the coffee grounds from your favorite cup of jo. They can also be used to remove fingerprints and dust from your electronic devices!
VACCUM AND SHAMPOO CARPETS
I like to sweep my carpet down and then vacuum, I think it loosens some of the dirt the vacuum may not be able to reach.
After sweeping the carpet and vacuuming, shampoo the carpets. You can rent a machine from your nearest grocery store and DIY or you can hire a professional. I prefer to do it on my own!
EXTRA TIP: After you have shampooed and dried your carpets, sprinkle on this natural carpet deodorizer. I like to let mine sit for a few hours and then vacuum because I love the smell! It will make your home smell amazing! Did I mention it’s all natural?
CLEAN CEILING FANS
If you have never paid attention to the gunk that collects on your ceiling fan, you will today! All you need is a ladder (if you are vertically challenged like me) and a pillowcase.
Slide the pillowcase onto the blade and press firmly against the top and bottom while sliding the pillowcase toward you. The gunk stays in the pillowcase and your blades are clean! Shake the pillowcase clean and repeat.
